You are bidding on one in a group of Mettlach steins that my grandfather collected, many were dispersed among the family and my grandmother is selling the rest. This particular Mettlach stein is lidded with a hinge and features a crest in medium blue with a crown, and lions on either side of it. The Stein is a 1/2Liter in size and is marked Mettlach on the bottom with incised 2719 II and S. Oisch, perhaps the artist, I do not know a lot about them except my grandfather collected them. This particular stein has a 1/4" chip on the underside and a 1/2" chip on the base, we inquired as to repairing it and I felt selling it as is was best, many people are very good at repairing, and so we are listing it at a very low opening bid. The finish is in good condition t are no hairlines or cracks, and repaired, someone would have a fine stein. It measures 8.5" in height and 5.5" across including the handle.
