MEXICAN IRONWOOD CARVING – TURTLE We bought this from a street vendor inMexico, just South of the Texas border, in the 1970’s or 1980’s. I did not know the name of the wood, but according to others on eBay, it is carved from ironwood. The turtle is approximately 9 ¼” long, 5 ½” wide, and 2 ½” tall. There are some small nicks and scratches. Somewhere over the past 30-40 years, the left rear fin was broken and repaired. See photos for exact condition.
