MEXICAN POTTERY TALAVERA B&W TORTILLA/PANCAKE WARMER_BsA3

DESCRIPTION:

This auction is for a brand new exquisite talavera tortilla or pancake warmer. It is hand painted in a wonderful contrast of Navy Blue on a white background and a delightful Spanish like design; the colors are incredible but the picture does not show the real intensity of them. It is decorated with Lead Free Paint, and you can also use it to keep those delicious pancakes during breakfast. MORE DESIGNS IN MY STORE.

This piece measures about 8" in diameter and 4 " tall.

HISTORY:

Mexico is famous for its pottery work; it has very skillful artisans who make the most beautiful pieces of ceramics in different techniques. The most prominent is Talavera from Puebla which has an influence from the Spaniards who colonized Mexico . When the City of Puebla was established in the now Estate of Puebla these early settlers brought with them the tradition of pottery making, with italic, Chinese and Arabian influences, this artisans came from Talavera de la Reina, province of Toledo Spain w the most renown talavera is made.
