A Document issued through the Ministry of Justice and signed by EMPEROR MAXIMILIANO on 7 February 1867 (just before fleeing Mexico City to Queretaro), naming a new "Presidente del Tribunal Mercantil de Veracruz"; the document provides for the appointment of Lic. D. Jose Miguel Caraza with that title. He was replacing D. Jose Maria Oliver who resigned. It is a beautifully hand-written document with Maximiliano's signature at the end of the text. It is a single sheet document measuring 10-1/2" by 8-1/4" and is in above average condition with a horizontal fold; left edge is a little ragged; top right and bottom left corners have small folds but are complete. Guaranteed authentic.
