Up for Auction: One Replica Colt Model 1911 Pistol US STYLE Grips Thank you for looking. This Pistol is magnificent. Full Size, full weight, fully disassembles. Venerable Colt 1911 replica made from all metal and hardwood grip panels. These replica guns are select quality, individually serialized, and are the most beautiful and perfect 1911 replica I have seen in my 40+ years of collecting. Made of over 30 precision machined metal parts. The Standard Finish on this gun replicates parkerizing. Its a good finish, a strong finish and looks like a brand new factory fresh WWII era Colt. This finish also lends it self to our weathering process quite nicely. Weathering is a service we offer in our Ebay Auctions at no addituional cost. Our "KAR Exclusive Weathering" makes the gun look like a battlefield veteran, and we can customize the look to your personal preferences. From light holster wear to many years "In Country" it's up to you. This gun comes froms the factory in Japan with the wrong grip screws. They will not switch from the Phillips head no matter what. You would think that finding metric grip screws in the proper size and shape with a slot would be easy in the age of the internet, but not so. Long story short, after chasing the proper grip screws for almost a year, we had them made. All KAR guns now ship with the correct screws. This model gun has a very rich history, and the design for this gun goes back to the 1960's.....I could write a page about this replica guns history alone! I'll Spare you. The REAL 1911's history dates back to 1911 and has been proven on every battlefield from WWI to date. Officially in Service from 1911 to 1985, the Colt 1911A1 is still used by elite units of the US Military. It has been prized for it's legendary reliability, and 45 caliber stopping power for nearly a century. An amazing feat matched by no other handgun. This hand filling replica is absolutely beautiful.
