This sheet mica or book mica is the most common of the mica groups but it is interesting and it is certainly eyecatching. I have joked that I thought I had picked it all up as a child, but I see there is still some left. It was also used to make isinglass which was used to make the windows in the doors of the metal chimneys above the burners on kerosene stoves. It was mesmerizing to watch the flames dance behind the translucent sheets of mica or muscovite. This is a Colorado specimen and it weighs about 1.5 oz. and measures about 4 x 2 x .25". I am happy to combine items to save you money on shipping, should you win more than one auction. It would be mailed first class and would cost less than $4 anywhere in the USA.
