Michael Blaser-"You Could Ride All Day for a Nickel." Print 30 in. by 23 1/2 in. Image is 27 1/4 in by 18 1/2 in. It is signed and number by artist. This is print is numbered DELTA QUEEN PROOF 1/75. This is a famous print of Davenport, Iowa in the 1930's. Image includes Steamboats W. J. QUINLAN and J. S. DELUXE. On the Iowa side of the Upper Mississippi River is the Davenport Skyline including Davenport Bank and Trust Building, First National Bank, St James Hotel, Putnam Building, Dillon Fountain, Lend-A-Hand Club, Peterson Harned Von Mauer, Parker Building, Union Arcade Building, Lagomarcino Fruit Co., Iowa and Illinois Electric Co., Blackhawk Candy Company and Blackhawk Hotel. The Rock Island Wharf Boat is on the Illinois side of the river. Beautiful colors and imagery. Theme is the nostalgia of when someone could ride an excursion steamer all day for 5 cents. Print is in new condition-never framed and first time rolled will be for shipment. Own a piece of history-a historic image of an American River City in the summer time.
