Western Desert Aboriginal painting by Mick Namarari Tjapaltjarri, one of the original 'Painting Men' from Papunya.The painting is accompanied by an official signed certificate from Papunya Tula Artists, the founding companyestablished by the Western Desert Artists themselves in 1972. It is also sold with Artist information supplied by Papunya Tula stating Artist biographical information including Awards, Exhibitions and Collections. Certificate reads in part : The central roundel in this work depicts the rockhole at the site of Marnpi,South-east of the Kintore Community. This rockhole is surrounded by sandhills which are representedby the rows of dots and lines around the rockhole.A number of people lived at this site many years ago including the artist's grandfather and mother.Mick Namarari was was born at Marnpi but his family moved from the area when he was a small child. Provenance : Painted at Kintore during 1988 for Papunya Tula Artists PTY. LTD.(The original documentation had been lost and has since been reissued by Papunya Tula Artists PTY.
