I was involved as the General Manager for nearly 25 years. The restaurant immediately became a New York City landmark and attracted thousands of athletes, celebrities, politicians, movie stars, rock stars, and media personalities. Most importantly, it attracted the best sports fans from across the country and around the world.Mickey truly enjoyed being in the restaurant. Many of Mickey's former Yankee teammates stopped by often to see him including Billy Martin, Whitey Ford, Moose Skowron, Hank Bauer, Phil Rizzuto and Yogi Berra. The restaurant also attracted all the great sports icons: Joe DiMaggio, Mohammed Ali, Joe Namath, and Michael Jordan; as well as an endless parade of mega celebrities including George Steinbrenner, Donald Trump, Billy Crystal, Dustin Hoffman, and Robin Williams to name a few.Although I met thousands
