Very nice soft cover edition of this hard to find Big Little Book "Mickey Mouse and the Magic Carpet" distributed as a Premium Give Away printed by Whitman and distributed through K. Kamen for Stewart's Toyland back in 1935. Measures 3 1/2" x 4" and with both front and back covers included has a page count of 148. So much for what I know about the history of this book, now on to the book itself. Scans show everything I think, beautiful colors on both front and back covers. pages off white. Book is complete. Tightly stapled. No pages torn. Now the negatives. Front cover...the words "Mickey Mouse" in red have a pencil line tracing the interior of each word. The interior front and back cover have writing in pencil, the front interior being the worse as the picture shows. Would seem Eva Low wanted to make sure everyone knew this was her book. Back interior cover has her name written once in pencil. Page #2 has Mickey Mouse. Would seem Eva or someone took it upon to color Mickey's gloves and shorts in what back in 1935 was probably a red crayon, as you can also see from the picture in this auction. The rest of the black and white illustrations in this book are untouched. Back cover as you can see has a small tear in the lower left hand corner. Rust on staples, but again, very very tightly held together. I have described this item to the best of my abilities, and realize perhaps I may have over done what may be the negatives on this item, but want to be 100% honest with you about this book. But as a whole, again, book has beautiful front and back color on covers. Pages are in great condition, with no tears and no fading.Shipping will be $7.95 for Priority Mail which will cover your postage, Delivery Confirmation and insurance.
