Walt Disney's MICKEY MOUSE Modeled in Soap
I believe this soap was made in the year 1938 It is truly a very rare item, most soaps have been used and no longer exist today! This Mickey Mouse soap was manufactured by Lightfoot Schultz Company. At the time this soap was produced the Company had been in business for 26 years, the Makers of Fine Soap. The Lightfoot Schultz Co. was located on Fifth Avenue in New York City. Manufactured of mild, pure toilet soap of the finest quality and hand colored with non-injurious vegetable coloring. The molded Mickey Mouse soap comes with it's original box and even the original shredded packing material. The box is still vibrantly colored with four different illustrations depicted on each side of the box and wording that reads " Walt Disney's MICKEY MOUSE MODELED IN SOAP " (on 2 sides) and Manufactures information (on the other 2 sides). At the bottom on one side of the box are the words ©WALT DISNEY ENTERPRISES . The condition of the box is good to fair with the following notations, not complete, missing 2 flaps from the top of the box and minor wrinkles on the facing of the box as shown in the pictures. The Soap condition is good, it has wonderful detail and the molded Mickey is all intact with no chips , color has faded over the years and minor lines in the soap from age. The space between his legs has lettering etched in the soap that reads "CASTILE SOAP". He stands upright as seen in the pictures. The dimensions are: Box approximately 2-3/8" x 2-3/8" x 5-3/8" Soap approx. 2-1/2" at it's base, 4-3/8 " tall, Mickey's head is 1-3/4" high x 2" from ear to ear. I purchased this Mickey Mouse soap about 25 years ago at a Swap Meet. The soap has been stored throughout the years in either a closed display case or boxed and put away in a closet. In all these years I have NEVER seen another one. Some of this description was taken directly from the Mickey Soap Box and other is my opinion along with the pictures I've provided.
