A beautiful museum quality black marble stone round pietra dura Tabletop!Extensively carved using micromosaics, this is crafted using the same technique as the Taj Mahal. Pietra Dura is inlaying of the Marble surface with semiprecious stones that are cut, fitted and polished to create various designs. Pietra Dura was also practiced in the last century in Italy (pietre dure). Semiprecious stones like Lapiz Lazuli, Agate, Malachite etc. are used to inlay the black marble with the designs. The design is indicative of old Roman/Renaissance period Italian patterns. We are told an identical tabletop is placed in the Louvre in Paris. Only semi-precious stones are used for inlaying the plain marble surface for designs! See for yourself the quality of the intricate craftsmanship! Words cannot describe it. USAGE: 1. Can be used as a table top for dining table, coffee table or be placed in the lounge. 2. You can also mount it on the wall, or place in a show case in the drawing room. 3. Can be used as a floor tile. The table is stain-proof, any kind of drink like Coke, Wine, Whiskey, Tea and Coffee will not stain it and it will remain functional.
