SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLYUp for auction is a mid 19th century court table of American origin. This table was professionally appraised and the details are provided below. A dozen pictures are here for you to see. Please review the entire listing before bidding. What Its Worth Appraisal Appraised On: 07-02-2011 Title: Spool Table Date/Era/Period: mid-19th Century Description: An entry or court table, spool turnings, beaded moldings. Condition: Table is in good condition with 2 locking drawers, Eschucheon keyholes. Spool legs. Nautical style. Previous appraisal states the following.... American late 1800's valued $1500.00 plus Origin: American Manufacturer. Appraised By: Jeff Matinger History Of The Item: Unmarked, maker unknown. It appears to be an entry-way or court table 24" x 36" x 18" and often used as a coffee table. It appears to be of American manufacture and dates to the middle of the 19th century. Key Details: The drawers are in working order, but do stick slightly. This can be resolved by rubbing paraffin wax on the rub surfaces. The drawers have working locks from the period with the key. This is my favorite aspect of the table. The key is uncommon and original Research Sources: auction results databases, dealer asking prices. Appraiser Comments: It is a good example of its type but is unusually short in height. I recommend checking the bottom of the legs to look for saw marks. Hard to say about value given the unusual dimensions but it would likely fetch $600 to $800 at a well advertised antiques auction. * Current Fair Market Value: $1600.00 ** Replacement Cost: $1800.00 All values are in US currencyThis online appraisal is an expert's opinion of the item(s) depicted above based solely on images and information supplied by our customer.
