This item is up for bid again as the previous "buyer" never paid. It is a modern take on a traditional roll-top desk. It's definitely mid-century, but I haven't been able to find anything like it. It's made by Hooker and very solid, but I can't find out the exact age of manufacture. It's just under 50" long X about 43 1/2" tall X 20" deep. It has six drawers for storage, one with a metal insert to handle hanging files, and four cubbyholes. The writing surface slides out as does a side shelf that was probably designed for a typewriter but could hold a small printer. In fact this desk would be great for someone who uses a laptop. It has the usual signs of use, but the biggest spot of damage is at the upper right w something heavy got put on it in storage and broke the top in the corner and damaged the veneer. Someone also drilled a hole in the back that isn't the cleanest, I guess to run wires. Check out the pictures. I think the veneer is walnut, but I'm not an expert. NO MDF, all solid wood, even the drawers. This is solid American furniture the way they used to make it, not some Ikea crap. T are some other small chips and scratches, but overall this is an unusual and attractive piece. I wish I could keep it, but we don't have the room and the wife is making me sell it. This desk is pretty heavy for it's size so it will definitely be PICKUP ONLY, however if you are the winner I could perhaps meet you off the nearest major highway and save you some driving time. Email me if you have any questions. Have fun bidding!
