You are bidding on an Mid Century Modernist American Oil Painting in Gilded Carved Frame. This piece is a RARE FIND due to its size, age and beauty and is an original oil painting that was signed and dated by who we believe is VERY WELL listed artist Mrs. Mildred Shire Mermin (1907-?) who is listed in the Davenport, Askart, Artprice and various other art indexes and has an old original gallery label from Los Angeles which will be disclosed to the winning bidder and we took a close up photo of the signature for your own reference. This is a very beautiful subject and is an original Oil on Canvas that was signed and dated Circa 1959 that depicts a beautiful interior scene with a Miro painting which was of the time period and has nice line and form to the painting with beautiful still life of Musical instruments that have a translucent look to it which was very nicely done. It has a open window to the left and can also be a Cubist art piece and she was a well known painter during the Mid Century Modernist movement and a National Acadamey artist and student and a pupil of Hawthorne and Robinson with a great pedigree as an artist .This painting was done with great detail in both color and clarity with the distinctive characteristics of the beautifully done objects and decorative wall hangings of paintings and tapestries by the window and is a BEAUTIFUL interior scene with different and elegant objects and collections in the surrounding. This has beautiful brush strokes with tonalism and shading with the walls and the interior architectural designs and all the different objects were so well done and must have taken a long time to do with beautiful color tones that were very well blended. This could have been the artists form of expression of Home, Tranquility, Peace, Love and is a way of Inviting to guest and beauty and can mean so many other things to many different people. The beauty of art is that t are many different ways of looking at this painting and the beauty is all in the eye of the beholder.
