This is a piece out of a fabulous collection of 20th century glass gatd over 30 years, by a collector with both knowledge and a discerning eye.
The item presented for sale is a large Murano sommerso bowl with gold leaf. This is likely designed by Carlo Scarpa. It is hard to date but is likely mid century (30s through 50s). T is no label or signature. This is composed of a blue body (see fourth picture - tiny multi tonal blue dots create the effect of a solid blue color), cased in crystal with a layer of gold leaf between the layers. This measures 7 & 1/4" across and 2 and 1/2" deep. The condition is very good, no chips, cracks, or damage to note. T is age appropriate wear on the flat polished underside.
