From a well referenced and highly regarded Mid Century Southern California architectural firm is this boxed pair of Parker Big Red pens in classic black with original Systemark floating ball cartridges, these made special order with logo for Herman Miller, Inc. of Lansing Michigan. The genuinely 1970's retro duo - they somewhat resemble a Parker Duofold - were designed as an advertising gift within the trade, and this pair was supplied to A. Quincy Jones & Associates Architects in Santa Monica, Cailfornia...I know this because I personally acquired them during that period from the old offices on Santa Monica Boulevard - my father was a partnered architect with that landmark Southern California firm until his death in 1979. The pens are accompanied by their equally original black box with "HERMAN MILLER" and again the well known logo in red, thus perfect for collection display or purposeful use. NOTE: the pics show one of the original Parker Systemark floating ball cartridges for purposes of verification; these are now around 40 or so years old and should be considered no longer viable. Set condition is quite good overall but not perfect, one pen in fine shape with only very light signs of brief handling and appearing to have seen little if any purposeful use. The other has evidence of service, with some tiny surface nicks to the read more
