MID991 Maine Lobsterboat 21 inches long Midwest This model is based upon a boat built in the Boothbay Harbor region of Maine, and is typical of Lobsterboats in use today. These boats were developed after World War I, when inexpensive and reliable gasoline engines became available for use in powered launches. With their speed, capacity and stability in rough seas, the Maine Lobsterboat soon replaced the Friendship Sloop and powered Dory as the primary work boat of the Maine Lobstermen. Specifications: Overall Length: 21-7/8" Height: 14-5/8" Beam: 7-5/8". This Complete Kit Features: Midwest Micro-Cut Quality Basswood, Balsa and Micro-Lite Plywood parts. Complete fittings set - high quality cast metal fittings. Lobster Traps - kit includes wood to build two lobster traps.
