is a rare and exquisitely crafted pair of walnut, Faux Bamboo, Hollywood Regency end table floor lamps. They reflect quality craftsmanship in every way. Nothing is compromised in the construction, not in the wood or the hardware. They date from the late 50s, 60s Eames era. They are in very good to excellent condition.
Both lamps have the Frederick Cooper of Chicago labels intact. Most stunning is their beauty and versatility in both presentation and use. Shades are not included in the auction, but two styles are used as examples in the photos. Crafted with an Asian flare, the following details are worth mentiona and your consideration: --Style: Hollywood Regency Faux Bamboo tables at their finest! Tables will look amazing in any area and easily fit in any modern mid century decor. --Maker: Frederick Cooper of Chicago; the labels are on both floor lamps. --Wood: Solid Walnut, enduring construction, medium brown stain, satin finish. --Hardware: Quality casters, brass feet, all are original and present. All are as tight on the leg as the day it was placed. All roll smoothly. All brass hardware has a naturally aged patina. The pole extension and harp are also brass. --Use: End tables, floor lamps, Magazine or book nook. Not only are they lamps and tables of distinction, the construction also serves as a book or magazine rack either in the front or the back of the table. --Wiring and Operation: All original. Wiring is great, no need to rewire presently. Wire is brown. Original sockets and on/off switches. --Combination of presentation possibilities: The design allows for the tables to be turned and used either by the length of the rectangular shape (narrow width) or the actual length (wide width). This is demonstrated in the photos. --Measurements: · Rectangular table: 17 L x 12 W · Brass table surface area: 8 x 10 · Floor/caster to table bottom: 5" · Length of brass lamp pole: Brass surface to light socket - 25" · Harp measurement: 9" · Weight -table, boxed with packing 28 lbs. · Total Height Floor to top of harp is 53" (a shade and finial will add an additional few inches). --Brass table top area: Engraved or etched brass with Asian scene / motifs: nds, cherry blossoms. T is some oxidation to the brass in a few areas. The brass appears to have an original varnish finish on the brass, which through use has worn off in areas, causing oxidation. Removal of the varnish on the brass, a brass polishing, and new poly coat will bring back to original. --Shades and Finials: Not included in this auction. Measurements used as examples are: BLACK SHADE - Rectangle 17" long x 10.5 tall x 10 deep. CREAM SHADE - round cylinder 13" across top x 17" tall x 14 across bottom. --Overall condition: Wood has some worn areas that may need varnish touch up. Of course, they photograph and look perfect, but on very close inspection you will see general wear in some places. A light refinishing or stain rub should restore them to like-new condition. --Shipping: Tables are built as one piece. They are not stackable, so I will have to ship in two separate boxes. T are a few options. I can send by the carrier I will arrange for a $195 Flat Shipping, Packing, and Insurance fee, which WILL BE ADDED to your final invoice for shipping within the Continental U.S. 48 States only. Or, you may arrange to have them picked up and professionally packed or crated to send by freight. The end table lamps may also be personally picked up in Roswell Georgia at a business location to avoid any shipping or delivery charges. VERY IMPORTANT: Please advise me in advance of the auction closing whether you will need to make your own shipping arrangements or pick them up.
