The 1950s and early 1960s were something of a heyday for the hard-boiled private eye strip. Outside of Rip Kirby, most of them didn't achieve lasting popularity - think of Win Mortimer's Larry Brannon, Ken Bald's Judd Saxon, Mike Roy's Nero Wolfe, Ed Robbins' Mike Hammer, Lou Fine's Peter Scratch, to name a few.

Ken Winston by Superman creator Jerry Siegel and artist Mike Roy is another example, and here is a 2-day run that conveys the feel of the strip very well - nice period detail, pretty girls, hard-boiled dialog. Excellent pair from an under-appreciated artist and strip.

Size of each is about 22 x 7-7.5 inches. A few glue stains as you can see in the scans.

Postage is $13 in the US by priority mail, with delivery confirmation and insurance. Out of the US postage is $22 for international first class mail. Paypal only

Buyer is responsible for any customs fees/duties/taxes. The customs value of the art wilI be the closing value of the auction.

I have other strip art on ebay this week. Combine lots to save on shipping - just $1 for each additional single strip lot.
