Literally part of the Leafs family, Walton came up with the Toronto Marles and along his way towards the NHL, he married Conn Smythe's granddaughter. By 1965, Walton was starting out with the Leafs and in 1967 he enjoyed his first Stanley Cup victory and the last for Toronto. Walton was established as a solid NHL sniper but by the end of the decade, his relationship with Leafs management had soured and he was traded to the Boston Bruins. In Beantown, he won his second Stanley Cup in 1972 before moving the WHA's Minnesota Fighting Saints. T he finished his first season as the league's top scorer with 117 points in 78 games. Walton returned to the NHL with the Vancouver Canucks in 1975 and put in brief stints with the St Louis Blues, Boston Bruins, and Chicago Blackhawks before retiring. A.J.
