Hi. This is a ANTIQUE / VINTAGE MILITARY NAVY ARTILLERY SHELL FIRING TIP OR END DETONATOR. Piece Measures 3" tall overall and is 2 1/4" in diameter at the largest point, Piece is marked with the letters A G O, and has a anchor insignia, that is why I put navy in the title and t is two other insignias, please see photos, not sure how old or exactly what type of shell this went on, any input would be Greatly appreciated. Condition, Shows some pits and dings, nothing real deep and t is one dent in the aluminum top or tip, as the photo shows. The 3rd section down from the top is steel and shows some light rust and the insides have some steel, the rest of the piece is brass other than the top aluminum cap. I always try to describe the condition of my items very accurately so t is no surprises.
