Military Smiths Astral Signal Centre Clock in Waterproof Case - with additional rotating zone dial to show Greenwich Time (outer red numbers), with a British Military Arrow The instructions inside the case lid mention Smiths Clocks and Watches Ltd Ref. No. QSCC 100 The Smiths Astral clock is housed inside a very heavy metal waterproof case with a 3/8inch thick metal plate which protects the clocks face and Perspex window when not in use The cover plate can be stored on the rear of the main case when the clock is being used (secured by four screws) The clock face's Perspex window is mounted into a hinged metal door, clamped closed by two large screws The Perspex window has some scratches (see photo) The speed regulator works and the clock is keeping time to well within a minute a day, as presently set The clock face is very clean and white The large main hands and the very small second hand are all in very good condition Permanently attached to the case by a short chain and spring is the original winding key, it has its own storage compartment when not in use The outer green case is in good condition with a few marks Although this item is described as "waterproof" in the instructions - it is NOT being sold as guaranteed waterproof now The clock has been unused for at least 20 years and has not been serviced during this period,
