This was a Chaplins rosary, seeing as this is totally Sterling Silver. This was used by the Chaplins in the military, and the other brass with Silver Wash were used by the fighting men & women defending our country against the tyrany of terrorists. They did not call them terrorists at that time, but they may as well have been called that. They still had suicide bombers wanting to die intentionally for their country. I think they called them Kamakazi Warriors. This is a great rosary, as the Chaplins that used them would sometimes give them to the soldiers as they lay dying, or badly injured from their wounds. This rosary is 18" long, 24" in the circle of the rosary, and 5 1/2" in the drop. The crucifix is 2" by 1 1/8" and has a raised Corpus of Christ and INRI. The back is stamped Sterling Silver and has initials it looks like F.K. for Frank Klein. The carrying case is nicely made looks like by hand, and is an excellent case to carry the rosary in while traveling. The case is leather and measures 3" by 2 1/2". An excellent and heartwarming rosary that you will have for a long time, and enjoy, even though you are not a chaplin or priest. The center medal is in raised relief of a Jesus Christ, the Blessed Virgin Mary in raised relief, with the stamp Sterling Silver. I love sacred medals sometimes you will find Our Lord, Jesus Christ, The Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Joseph, and St. Christopher. On the back it looks like the Miraculous Medal, and Our Lady of the Scapular. I know this is a rare and unique rosary with great energy.
