This is a rare, beautiful, quality, finely desined, original MILLER lamp. It is signed:"MILLER" on two areas of the base of this kerosene lamp, which has been electrified. It has a frosted, etched glass shade, which has floral and leaf designs. The base of the lamp, which holds the font, is signed on its' underside, with an embossed: "Miller" and the number: "925". The font is a Juno, with a signed embossed: "MILLER" kerosene cover cap. The chimney is not original and is only on the lamp for viewing purposes. It will not be sent to the buyer, unless requested, since a period chimney deserves to be on such a quality lamp and one was not available. The two handle base, which comprises of most of the lamp space, appears to be bronze. The design is noted for its' crispness and refinenement of detail. The base is large. The bottom lamp stand, which is under the large base, appears to be iron, but has a copper finish in small polished areas on its' top and a yellow finish in small polished areas on its underside The base has exquisite 19th century large scroll work attractive handles, each one is a serpent beginning at its' top with a finely desined head and its long body ending with its' tail in a curl. The serpent surrounds leaves and a floral petal. The whole base is finely designed and has a beautiful patina. The top of the base has beautiful beading. The center of the base has an artful, deep embossed floral and leaf design. The stand of the base has large outstanding, deeply embossed floral leaves and geometric designs with cut outs throughout it. The lamp has its original cloth covered wire, which needs to be replaced. The lamp is approximately 24 inches from the base to the top of the chimney. It is 17 3/4 inches high from the base to the top of the shade. It is 10 1/4 wide at the base of the shade. It is 7 1/2 inches at the bottom of the lamp base. It is 10 inches from the end of one handle of the base to the end of the other handle. The lamp is in very good condition, with no cracks, no chips and no repairs. It is photographed for your viewing. This is an excellent quality example of an early Miller lamp that would be a welcomed addition to a collection/display/use!
