MILLS VIOLANO VIRTUOSO COIN-OP MUSIC BOX NICKELODEON! Hear what the jukebox & phonograph replaced! Listen to it now! Back in the old days before the jukebox craze took over the entertainment world of soda fountains, hotels, and fine restaurants, the coin operated violin playing Mills machines were often in place for people to listen to, dance with, and otherwise entertain with during the 1910's and 1920's through out North America and other parts of the world. For a nickel a person could play it and hear the latest fox trot tune or perhaps a waltz. This particular unit I have is totally original and pretty much unrestored, but yet plays well and works fine. I have played all six of the five tune rolls and all of them are in great shape rewinding and restarting perfectly. This machine plays both the "break-a-way" spooled rolls as well as the permanent spooled rolls and comes with both types. It was bought in 1923 and set up in a fine restaurant in Arlington, Texas and then later was replaced by a jukebox! I had bought it from the original family's grand kids who had it new. Reasonable reserve for this original finish machine. They seldom turn up for sale. I can ship it world wide or hand deliver it within the US depending on distance, so inquire first. Of course, pickup is allowed after full pre-payment is made. No PayPal on this read more
