This beautiful Millville Rose Glass Paperweight was made in Millville NJ . The artist that made the paperweight was Robert Grablow.It is signed and dated by the artist. It was made in 1989. This paperweight is not a lamp work paperweight. The molten glass is taken from a large tank and formed using methods and tools like the ones that were used over 100 years ago. The paperweight was made at Wheaton Village. Robert Grablow is most known for his Millville Rose Paperweights. The Millville Rose design was made popular in the early 1900s by Ralph Barber. . This weight is has a foot and is about 3 " inches in dia. It is about 3 ¼" tall and 2 ¾" in Dia. The weight is about 1 lbs. The weight has a single window or facet and is frosted. Grablow experimented with various style weights with the Millville Rose design. The rose has 15 petals its is Golden Ruby with white tips it rest in 4 green adventurine leaves at the base of the rose. Currently, The are only a couple artist making this style weight out of a tank using traditional methods, Grablow is one. Grablow's Rose paperweights are the only ones I have seen frosted with facets. This facet or window was ground and polished by the artist. This was one of his earlier paperweights. The Millville Golden Ruby Rose with White tips is the most sought after colors for the rose. The paperweight is signed by the artist Robert Grablow. It was made in Millville NJ at Wheaton Village in 1989. Please we only accept PayPal or money orders.
