If you aren't familiar with these charming little dolls, you are in for a treat! Very hard to find. Standing just 3" high, The Flower Lady carries her basket of flowers for sale at 5 cents each. She is in excellent condition. Made by Mildred Davis in Greenfield, Indiana, the birthplace of the famous American poet, James Whitcomb Riley. Milly's darling dolls are all based on characters in Riley's poems. Each doll's feet are glued to a small card upon which is printed, "Milly's Miniatures, from the birthplace of James Whitcomb Riley" Then in her own handwriting is the name of the doll. In this case, "The Flower Lady". I believe the era is 1940's through the late 1960's. All handmade with cloth, yarn and whatever she had around the house. Milly passed away in the early 1970's, I believe. Questions welcomed. Non-smoking home. Please make Insurance is included as a handling charge according to eBay's rules. There is no other handling charge. Most packages will be mailed within 1 business day of confirmed payment. Please remember this when leaving your star rating. I try my very best to be fast, accurate and fair. Thanks for visiting!
