Milo Baughman long and low sofa from the Seventy's. Manufactured by Directional. Mid-Century Modern Design by the most successful designer of the late 20th Century. No identity remains on the sofa. I cannot prove authenticity. The chrome boxed/square ends on this sofa are iconic and trend setting. Walnut veneered wood planks emphasise the modern lines. Incredibly low to the ground, incredibly elegant. Originally green in color, the sofa was reupholstered in red velvet in the 80's by an amateur. No manufacturing tags or identity remain. Sofa needs to be entirely redone. I will leave the official estimates to you but expect at least $1500 for quality materials and workmanship. But, once recovered, it could be worth $4000? 5000? 6000?. No missing parts. Solid and complete frame. The springs are strong and in place. The metal frame has various blemishes but chrome on the top are very nice. Some surface rust on inside corners. Some scratching down by floor. The chrome could be cleaned up/restored and used as-is to show the sofa's authenticity or possibly or re-chromed for a complete restoration. Fronts of wood slats have a few gouges but are nice looking overall. The back of the wood has minor screw damage. The could absolutely be reused.Cushions have poor fitting covers still in red velvet.
