MILT JACKSON + COUNT BASIE – Pablo 2310-823 – BEST! Two things about this album are intriguing: First, Basie never had a vibraphone in his Band, and second, Milt Jackson never played with a Big Band. So, the combination of the two, offers us unique Basie renderings of 9:20 SPECIAL, LENA AND LENNY, BACK TO THE APPLE (fabulous!), SUNNY SIDE OF THE STREET, MOONLIGHT BECOMES YOU, and EVERY TUB, among others. Wonderful jazz fare, in a cover without major fault, just a slight peeling of the laminate on back (nothing serious). Inside, is a Pablo platter that should play near mint. Internationally, $15 via airmail for the first LP, $3 each tafter. (Canada is half that.)
