This retro jersey is designed in the wool era style. Signed by Milt in black, this is the perfect gift for any hockey fan. One of the greatest legends in team history, no man ever led the Boston Bruins in as many ways as Milt Schmidt. He joined Boston in 1936 with his junior 'Kraut Line' mates Woody Dumart and Bobby Bauer and the line continued to dominate at the NHL level. Schmidt was key to the Bruins' winning the Stanley Cup in 1939 and 1941 but left to join the Canadian Air Force during World War II for three and a half years at the peak of his career. After returning, Schmidt, wore the 'C' on his sweater and won the Hart Trophy as the MVP in 1951. He retired as a player in 1955 and took over the head-coaching job for the Bruins, a position he held until 1966. His coaching record never matched his playing success, but as the Bruins' GM, Schmidt was the engineer of Stanley Cups teams in 1970 and 1972. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1961.
