, abstract landscape with large hills, signed and dated lower right `Milton Avery 1955`, stretcher size, 11` x 14`, mounted in blue over gilt frame, 17.5` x 20.5`. Milton Avery (1893-1965), abstract, seascapes, landscapes and nudes. Known as the great colorist, influenced many later artists including Rothko and Gottlieb. This work is a typical landscape of this period, although of somewhat unusual size for this medium.
