This is an actual insignia from a Milwaukee Road Hiawatha train engine or passenger or dining car, the well known Hiawatha logo. It’s made of ½” metal, cast aluminum I think but I’m not sure about that. There are four drilled holes for fastening it and you can see that it was fastened with metal fasteners in the past. It measures just under 19” long by 11.25” wide at the longest and widest points. The back is less finished as you can see in the photo and is marked with the numbers “7723” and “488.” This comes from my family estate and to the best of my knowledge it is from a train; I’ve also had it examined by several collectors who also validate its authenticity. One collector commented he’d only seen one other one in the past 20 years. Don’t miss this opportunity to add this unique Milwaukee Road Hiawatha item to your collection!!!
