Here is a harder to find china bowl from the Chicago Milwaukee St. Paul & Pacific Railroad - the "Milwaukee Road." It is a 6-1/4 inch oatmeal bowl -- significantly larger, deeper and taller than the smaller grapefruit bowl. This bowl has the full RRBS Bottom markings. It is bottom marked with both the Syracuse China Econo-Rim trademark green stamp (date code 4-U stands for April 1940 and the black goose Traveler DESIGNED ESPECIALLY FOR MILWAUKEE ROAD DINING CAR SERVICE . The design on this bowl is very attractive with bright glaze and strong pink colors, and an attractive airbrush fade. One pink goose (nice sharp artwork) flies over mountains and pine trees. The Econo-Rim design is strongly pressed into the rim. This bowl is a full 6-1/4 inches across the top, and stands nearly 2 inches tall, with gently sloping sides. CONDITION: Beautiful bright strong colors and shiny glaze. NO cracks, flakes, crazing or repairs and NO age yellowing anywhere. IMPORTANT : There are two tiniest nicks together in one spot on the outside edge of the rim, these do not show for display and must be looked for to be seen. The biggest one is about the size of a pencil point. The best way to find them is with a fingernail. They are in the pink color, and do not leap out at you immediately when you pick the bowl up to look at it. PLEASE LOOK AT OUR PICTURES: read more
