Offered for your consideration and bidding is this antique small (miniature) Zaandam wall clock. This clock was made in the 1950's and is made of veneered walnut wood. The case is in outstanding condition with minimal wear. The clock measures 17 inches top of earth ball to bottom of clock not including the weights. It is 8 inches wide at its widest point. This unique little Zaandam is 9 inches shorter than the large one and 3 inches more narrow than the large one. It is an 8-day, hour and half-hour strike on a tiny quiet bell as shown in the photos. The ornamentation on top and bottom of the clock are of solid cast brass. The Dutch words on the front of the top brass ornament "NU ELCK SYN SIN" mean something like "EVERYONE GETS WHAT HE WANTS NOW" which is probably not a literal translation. All of the ornamentation, including the hands and man on a horse pendulum bob are of solid cast brass. A statue of Atlas holding the Earth over his head is standing on top of the strike bell. The dial is blue delft with a blue delft plaque located in the open pendulum well behind the man on a horse pendulum bob. A small window is on either side of the case allowing a view of the movement from either side. I have taken good photographs of the clock but if you want more, contact me at my email address and I will send them to you. T is a photo
