This is a Minitoys (NYC) 103 Trolley. The Minitoys NYC white ink stamping is visible on the frame, but not strong. The previous owner has done a rather poor paint job on it. The last picture is what a 103 originally looked like. With some bead blasting and some yellow and red paint, this could come back. Lettering would be "103" and "RAPID TRANSIT."It is missing the front truck that has the collector rollers as seen in the last picture. The roof is in nice unpainted condition with both trolley poles (if that is what you call them - that's what Lionel calls them - maybe pantographs?) The original window inserts are also there.Now the amazing part! I attached a lead to the power wire that goes to the collector truck and the other to the frame. The motor runs well, drives the truck wheels, and REVERSES! Add a collector truck and this thing will operate.
