This is a ONE day auction with No reserve "Doubting Thomas" ...a cuddly little holiday bear by published Artist Jenea Ivey " Handmade miniature teddy bear -Real MINK a little about the Artist... Jenea Ivey of bears-by-jenea Hi, my name is Jenea Ivey. I have been designing & hand sewing miniature teddy bears for over 8 years and have been an artist all of my life. I feel very fortunate to have perfected my bear making skills under the direction of my wonderful Mother...Ellen Barnett (most of you know her as KOOLBEAR). Thanks Mom :) Each one of my creations is an artist original, one of a kind, with special attention devoted to every detail. Most of my mini teddy bears are made from real mink fur from recycled vintage coats, imported schulte mohair, or premium quality faux furs. I also love vintage fabrics & antique leather and use them for accents when available. It is very rewarding for me to start out with nothing more than a collection of supplies and through the process, watch a little teddy bear come to life in my hands. If you choose to adopt one of my bears, you can rest assured that I have done my best to strive for perfection ensuring a collectible that will withstand the test of time. I'd love to add you to my mailing list and I will be happy to add you. All about... "Thomas" "Doubting Thomas" is a cuddly baby teddy with a big, BIG, heart!! He is made of beautiful Light Brown Mink that is so soft, thick and fluffy! His fur is from a vintage coat that I have brought back to life as "Thomas" :) The Holidays are rapidly approaching.... and little Thomas tends to doubt and wonder if the Magic of Santa is REAL. He wants so badly to believe wholeheartedly, but the doubts always seem to creep in. To help serve as a reminder, I have given him a little silver charm to wear around his neck to remind him to "BELIEVE"!! His charm measures appx 3/4" long x 1/8" wide. He also comes with a very soft Santa hat that fits him just right! After the holidays these items can easily be removed and he can be an "every day" bear if you wish. Thomas measures in at just 8.5" standing - which he does very well by himself & 6.5" sitting. He is a special collectible, teddy bear designed and completely hand sewn by me, Jenea Ivey, of Bears by Jenea. His foot and paw pads are made of genuine ultra suede and I have also needle sculpted him pudgy little toes on his big bear feet! He's 5-Way disc jointed the old fashioned way with hard board discs and cotter pins to withstand the test of time. His head is wobble jointed (but very securely attached) for cute posing and I have also added wire in his arms so they are very bendable and can be positioned in many different ways. His black shoe button eyes are made of glass and reflect the depths of his little bear soul :) He also has subtle shading around his features for added expression and his little face was created with hours of fine scissor trimming. Thomas has a little black nose that I have hand sculpted of polymer clay and gently shaded around. He is stuffed with premium poly fill and a sprinkling of steel shot to give just the right weighted feel... and of course I've tucked in lots of warmth & hugs too! :) She will come to you with a signed and dated "Photo Tag" with all of her particulars :) I hope I have covered all the details you might be wondering about.
