FERNIANI COVERED BOWL Featured is this hand-painted MINT & lovely ceramic 6" diameter covered bowl from Bothega D'Arte Gatti Faenza of Italy. Produced circa 1960's or 1970's. Condition is excellent, or mint, & is in the Blue Carnation pattern. No chips, cracks, repairs or scratches. It measures 6" in diameter & the lid is 7" in diameter, & together stands 5" high. Marked on the bottom: CACF FAENZA. NOTE: bottom rim has the green felt scratch protectors. I have found this information on the pattern. The decor "Garofano" belongs to the Grand Feu, or "CHINOISERIE" decoration produced by FERNIANI factory since 1767. This style is still the most famous & continuing faience traditional decoration, as well as it is the symbol of Faience Majolica, all over the world. "Garofano" means carnation. The decor is characterized by a flowering garden. In the middle there is an imaginary flower that shows a wide likeness to a carnation, or blue meadow.
