Mint - Queen Elizabeth II Stamp Collection 1967 - 2002

I have recently inherited my mothers stamp collection.

It consists of five albums which are all mint/unused Queen Elizabeth II stamps dating from 1967 - 2002 (35 years).

As far as I can make out this is a complete set of every stamp issued during this period, and it looks as though from the mid 1980's there are two of each stamp.

All-in-all over 2700 mint stamps (yes I've tried to count them all without falling asleep)

I did email Stanley Gibons for a valuation and I have set the start price well within what they thought these would fetch at one of their specialist auctions, and since then I have found that the collection is bigger than I thought and I think it's worth every penny at the price I've set.

If it dosen't go at this price then I will probably keep it.

However I am sure there is someone who would love this to either add to their existing collection, or to someone new it would be an amazing start.

My mother religiously used to go to the Post Office every time a new set of stamps was issued and did this for 35 years, so this collection has a great deal of sentimental value but I feel it's just to good to be put away in the loft.

I'm sorry that I cannot be very specific as is is such a large collection but I am happy to try and answer any questions you may have.

Important up-date

I wanted to let you all know that I have just been looking more closely at the collection and want to up-date you with my findings as I don't want to mislead you in any way.

Firstly in the Red GB stamp album 1967 - 1985 these stamps are hinged in accordance with the Stanley Gibbons instructions in the front of the album.

From 1986 - 2002 the rest are un- hinged.
This makes up what I call the first complete set of stamps.(1967 - 2002)
The second set (or doubles of the first set) which runs from 1969 - 2002 is all un-hinged

Good News

So there are actually two full sets from 1969 -2002 which is a real bonus as I thought the doubles only started from mid 1980's.
I hope I haven't confused you just wanted to be clear.

Please also note that there are no mini sheets/ special collections just the stamps.

So that's still over 2700 stamps at a face value of around £700.00
