Helmets in the background not for sale, only the MK2!!!!You are bidding on a nice WW2 British/Canadian Mk II Steel combat helmet. This one is a nice Early war one, especially as it retains the early model bungee style chinstrap, the brass dome bolt, and of course, is dated 1941. What makes this one unique is the finish---The green coat appears to be the original finish and the exceptional condition of the liner- It is absolutely beautiful, in mint condition, also dated 1941 !! Rarey does one of these classic helmets emerge with an original mint liner and original period paint finish. The helmet is a gigantic size 7 3/4. The only damage to it appears to be shelf wear(see the details of the early bungee chinstraps --they still retain their flexiblity, but ar mildly stained. The liner is mint, and still flexible, but on the dry side, I was easily able to unfold the tongues to find the date for photos without damaging them. This item is for the collection and not wear daily anyway. An interesting piece I kept for years simply for the finish and overall condition, it needs a better home. Take advantage of my tightening down on my collection. Check out my other auctions of helmets and militaria
