MINTON BROWN TRANSFERWARE SOUP TUREEN, CIRCA 1885Offered is a Minton Brown Transferware Soup Tureen, Ladle and Platter. The pattern is "Ganges" and dates to 1881 - 1885. The tureen measures 11" handle to handle x 6 1/2" wide x 7" tall. It has intertwining branch handles and finial and a basket weave band on the lid and bowl. The bottom of the tureen is marked with an English Registry symbol that is unreadable. The platter measures 13" x 10". It is marked with an English Registry Symbol and Minton backstamp in brown underglaze. It also has impressed marks - "Minton", part of a registry mark and various numbers. The tureen is in excellent condition with no chips, no cracks. The lid has overall crazing on the exterior and the ladle also has overall crazing. The platter is in good condition with no chips or cracks. T is wear to the glaze on the rim of the platter and it has overall crazing and staining.
