Item Description I am relisting this item because it was pulled by eBay. I had put the names of my other toby mugs I will be listing this week. This was a violation which I was unaware of. I am sorry for the confusion. If you were watching item number 180233466023 previously it is now relisted as this item number. Up for bid is an extremely rare pair of Minton Toby Jugs listed in Minton's shape book at Quaker Man and Quaker Woman. Today they are better known as the Barrister and the Lady with a Fan. Each are in excellent condition, no chips, cracking or crazing. This unusual pair is finished with the white stoneware salt-glaze. The Quaker Man (model # 1140) is 12 inches tall and the Quaker Woman (model # 1139) is 11 1/2 inches tall. In addition to this glaze they were also produced in majolica, green, and green/yellow running glaze. These models were produced from 1865 to 1923 and the stamp used was used from 1912 - 1950. My best guess on their production year is between 1912 - 1923. I need to downsize so I have a very large collection of toby mugs and character jugs which I have chosen to put up for auction. Please keep an eye open for my other auctions. I purchased this pair 10 years ago and have not seen another pair like it on eBay or in any of the auctions I have attended. They have been on display in my wall-size curio
