This very rare minute repeater pocket watch measures 54mm (2'') across x 20mm (.75'') deep and weighs 148 grams. It is marked to the face and movement Brockbanks London with the serial number 6318 to the latter and the case is marked for solid Sterling Silver London 1872 with the makers mark P.W. The repeater chiming part of the mechanism is operated by pushing the plunger at the top of the watch down which then strikes 11 times in one tone and then a further 4 times in another tone with yet another 3 strikes of another tone between each of the last 4 strikes. This is not my area at all so I hope that makes sense but please feel free to email me any questions. The movement itself does tick for around 5 seconds when rotated but then stops so it must need some attention and obviously both hands are missing. The dial and the silver case are both in good condition with no damage or repairs and it must have been owned by a rich Victorian Gentleman. It is fresh to the market and I am selling it as non working but I am sure it would be well worth restoring as I believe minute repeaters from this period are quite rare pieces. International buyers are always welcome to this NO RESERVE auction. F.M.O.C.
