This necklace is absolutely elegant! Its intricacies add a vintage touch of artistic class which we see very little of today. The pearls have a pretty patina and are of the baroque variety (please check pictures). The strand is approximately 25 inches long and meets at a seven leaf gold cluster accented by clear stones; all prong set giving the sparkle of "diamonds" with multiple facets. These cascade downward to a large pearl that holds a double tassel of series of smaller pearls. The first tassel is attached to the large pearl by a gold umbrella shape with what looks to me like the top part of a fleur de lis in the divisions of it. Then inside the divisions are two prong set "diamond like" stones. Little dangles composed of three small pearls (the first two are smaller, then gold wire, then a bit larger pearl on the bottom). These form a tassel of multiple pearls. Then t is a medium sized pearl which holds another gold umbrella shape with no stones in it and attached to that are multiple "dangles" again of the pearls the same as in the preceding layer. T are textured engravings which create shine and dimension to the gold. The leaf part is marked "Miriam Haskell" on the back and t are two upper loops to which the pearl necklace part is attached.
