Miriam Haskell Earrings! These sparking rhinestone earrings are sometimes called shoulder dusters or fringes. The main part of the earring is composed of intertwining gold tone leaves with cascading clear rhinestones ending with magnificent rhinestone fringes that just shimmer and sway when you turn your head!
The earring backs date these Miriam Haskell earrings to the early 1960s. They are adjustable screwbacks. The flat part is marked with Pat 2400513; Affixed to a round metal end in a small raised circle signed MIRIAM HASKELL. (Miriam Haskell Jewelry by Cathy Gordon and Sheila Pamfiloff p.83) These earrings were probably designed by Robert Clark. He worked as an associate designer to Frank Hess. After Hesss retirement in 1960, Morris Kinzler, owner of the Haskell Company, appointed Robert Clark as the head designer. Clark possessed a flair that Kinzler admired! You can read more about Robert Clarks work in Chapter 5 of Gordons and Pamfiloffs Miriam Haskell Jewelry Reference. These vintage Miriam Haskell earrings exude glamour!
