You are bidding on a wonderful example of the Niloak Pottery Swirl or Mission ware. This match stick/ matchstick holder stands a mear 1.5 inches tall and is just under 2 inches at the mouth and only 2 inches at the base. It is glazed on the inside, as are nearly all Niloak pieces. It will look wonderful with any other pottery combination, including Zanesville or Camark. It bears the second art mark or stamp on the bottom. This little mission swirl matchstick holder could almost be considered a miniture and it is in great condition, no chips, cracks or damage of any kind. This lovely American Art Pottery Piece was originally produced in Benton Arkansas from Kaolin clay, hence the name, NILOAK. This piece is one of three that I have listed this week. Please e-mail me with any questions prior to bidding. It was pointed out to me that this item has vertical, rather than horizontal swirls. Pretty unusual, as I now have been advised. Guess you learn something new everyday! LOL
