This Antique Mission Oak Desk has its original warm brown finish. It is made with thick, solid, quarter sawn oak. It is 42 inches wide by 26 inches deep by 30 inches high. It has straight lines and heavy proportions characteristic of the mission oak style of the early 1900s. The desk has open bookcase shelves on each side. They are 26 inches long by 10.25 inches deep by 10 inches high. The desk's four oak corner legs are chunky quarter sawn solid oak 2.5 inches by 2.5 inches by 30 inches. The entire desk is solid oak. The foot shelf is 10 inches wide and 42 inches long by 1 inch thick. The desk has one center drawer, which opens and closes smoothly. The drawer is 18.75 inches wide by 19 inches front-to-back by 3.25 inches deep. Its two original wooden button draw pulls are convex mushroom shaped, and 1.5 inches diameter. The sides of the drawer are dove tail construction. The maker's numbers of 657 are stamped on the bottom of the drawer. The desk's kneehole opening is 18.75 inches wide, and 23 inches from the floor. The desk library table is in good condition for its age. It has never been refinished. It has been in seller's smoke free guest room for more than 50 years. All antique furniture can be expected to have some wear marks, but the only ones known to seller are 5 shallow, round pencil lead marks (about 1/32 inch deep, and read more
