AUCTION IS FOR MISSION SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO ORIGINAL O/C PAUL CONNER (1881 - 1968) CA LISTED 27 x 31 without frame and 31 x 37 with frame. Painting is in wonderful condition no holes or tears. It has museum light mounted on top of the frame. Also has original receipt with price paid taped to the back of the frame. News Paper articles are attached to the back of the painting explaining information about the artist and the painting. Painting shows a young boy with a basket beside his mother and two nuns in the background. PAUL CONNER (1881-1968) was born in Richmond, Indiana on September 5, 1881. At an early age he was artistically and musically inclined. For several years he played clarinet in the Indianapolis Symphony. After settling in Long Beach, California in 1919, he studied painting with Albert C. Conner and Henry L. Richter. At his ocean front studio he later taught small painting classes and made painting forays into the southern California deserts in search of subject matter.
