Buff Mississippian Bowl that is 7 and 1/4 wide and about 2 and 1/2 inches in height. This is a nice buff colored bowl that is oval in shape and probably utilitarian in nature..It has POP OUT spots on the bottom that occur during the original firing..when the flat flake actually builds up steam or gas and explodes, flakes of varied sizes(POP) from the vessel..They don't go through and the bowl seems to have been used extensively, as it was, by the Mississippian peoples that made it .This bowl has some repair to the surface but it is well done and does not detract much from the looks..It appears that some pieces near the lip might have been repaied but not alot. This will be a great bow that has a orange hue to the inside and a lot of charcoal colors to the bottom w fire was used.This is a pretty nice bowl that is not too wide to still fit in a small cabinet..IT is about 500 years old and was collected legally during the mid 60's and sold by the collectors heirs.I offer a thirty day period for return for money back if not satisfied and I offer lifetime authenticity guarantee..I am a member of the AACA and have good feedback, check it out and good luck on your bidding.
