Welcome and thanks for looking! For your consideration is this wonderful auction find from Denison, TX. This is a complete box of 100 Dixie drink or water cups from the MKT railroad. The MKT, or Katy, operated from the late 1890's until it was absorbed by Union Pacific in 1988. From what I can determine, the Texas Special operated from 1955 until they ended their passenger service in 1960. The Texas Special cars were divided chair cars also known as the Glamour Train of the Southwest. Each cup is marked Southwestern, Streamlined Texas Special with the Frisco logo on one side. The opossing side is marked Luxury Train, Streamlined Texas Special with the MKT logo. A replica of the train runs completely around the bottom of the cup. The cups are 3 oz. cups and measure 2 1/2 inches tall and 2 1/4 inches across the top of the cup. T are 100 cups in the box, making it a complete box. The box itself is in wonderful condition and measures 17 inches long and 2 1/2 inches square. Apparently this has been stored away since at least 1960! The cups do have some age yellowing to them but are as clean as can be. I welcome your questions or any additional information you may have. I actually have 2 of these wonderful finds, however the second box contains only 92 cups. It is also in pristine condition. Pending the ending price of this auction
